Hi all - welcome back!! A new year, some new information from NDAHPERD,
a fall workshop to attend - all great stuff.

Terry Eckmann and I had a great time in Washington, D.C. learning about leadership and visiting with our legislators - please see Terry's letter in this newsletter for additional information. By the time you read this, PE would have been promoted on Capitol Hill. We have some very dedicated legislators that feel passionate about the need for physical education and all that was left out of No Child Left Behind being reinstated into this bill - they are working hard to get it taken care of. NDAHPERD continues to do well when compared to our other state peers.

Mary Ann Donnay and her group in Bismarck have been working hard on our Fall workshop scheduled for September 28-29. We will meet on the 28th for a banquet to honor our award winners and other stuff, and then have a full day workshop on the 29th. Plenty of information in this newsletter - I strongly encourage you to send in your registration and plan to have fun on the 28-29th!! See you there.

Tami Doppler, Disa Salandar and I attended the CD Summit in July. Becky Gunderson was also there because she serves on the CD board. We learned great information that we will discuss as a board to help us move forward as a state association. Look for information in future newsletters.

Finally, the board has worked very hard on updating our Constitution and By-Laws. A copy of the changes is included in this newsletter, and a marked up version is available on the NDAHPERD website, if you want more information about what we changed. We will vote on accepting these changes at the Fall workshop, so please review the document. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
