effective in their practice, they are required to complete approved
continuing education for licensed renewal.
A LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) may rewnew his/her
license every two years by documenting the completion of 30
continuing education hours (CEH) for the two-year period. One
CEH is based upon a 50-minute hour. Notification of renewals
will be made in the month prior to the anniversary date of each
license, and each applicant will be given thirty days to respond.
- Documentation of continuing education will be made on the
prescribed forms available from the NDBCE office.
A LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) must
be renewed every two years on the expiration date of the individual's
LPC license. In addition to the 30 CEH required for renewal
of the LPC, 10 additional hours of clinical professional development
are required. These contact hours must be related to the person's
intent to practice and must be preapproved by the board. - Documentation
of these clinical CEH will be made on the same prescribed forms
as the LPC renewal application.
Questions regarding the acceptance of continuing education experiences
