Director's Awards

THE AWARD

The Director's Award of Excellence for Oustanding Career and Technical programs to be presented annually in conjunction with the All Service Conference. The award is an acknowledgement of superior career and technical education programs in North Dakota and of the professional involvement by the instructors.

One winner is selected from each service area that submits nominations. The nominations may be from secondary, postsecondary or adult areas.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

1. Be in operation for at least two years.

2. Be cost effective with other programs of similiar scope

3. Have received local, state or national publicity

4. Be innovative in its approach to meet the needs of advancing technology

5. Have an active and functioning local advisory committee

6. Be accessible to all individuals

7. Demonstrate evidence of nontraditional student enrollment

8. Where appropriate, have an active student organization as an integral part of the program

SELECTION PROCESS

1. Each service area may submit nominations received from the field for this award

2. Nominations are to be completed and submitted by March 15th to the service area supervisor

3. Each program supervisor may submit a maximum of three nomineed to the final selection committee by April 1st

4. The final selection committee will be appointed by the State Director each year and make their final decision by June 1st

5. A program may receive the award only once in a five year period

6. The program recipient in each service area is to be recognized during the first general session at the All Service Conference on Monday afternoon. (The presenation could possibly be given out by the Governor of the State Director)

7. Recognition is to be in the form of a plaque
